The Hands and Feet of Jesus

As followers of Christ, we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus…but what does that really look like? For me, that has come from my experience as a Stephen Minister here at Trinity.

Stephen Ministry is an incredible ministry where I have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus with another person. I walk with them through a difficult  time in their life and end up receiving many blessings myself. Getting to know another person and making a difference in their life is a special gift not only to the one receiving care, but to the caregiver as well. I've had several care receivers and each one has had unique issues; and together we have searched for Jesus in the midst of life's trials.

My biggest regret is that Stephen's Ministry wasn't available when I experienced hardships in my life, including divorce and depression. Life is sometimes really hard; and having someone who will listen, be a sounding board, and most importantly pray, pray, pray, is so helpful. The confidentiality brings a peace in knowing that you can "spill your guts" and not have it shared throughout the church and community.
